Areas of Focus

Jul 8th, 2007 by Oscar

Refuge - According to VA estimates, there are 250,000 homeless veterans on the streets on any given day. As of the end of 2004, the VA reports that there were 7,000 beds available to homeless veterans. Beginning in a modest way, CrossFire plans to provide overnight housing and residential treatment for chronically homeless vets. More than just a handout, we offer a helping hand up - out of the gutter towards a better, more self-sufficient and productive life.

Recovery - Regaining control over all forms of addictions and reinforcing personal boundaries are essential to regaining full functionality. We will offer walk-in assistance, outpatient treatment, and a 12-to-18 month residential treatment program.

Readjustment - Trauma and issues of the past must be overcome in order to be happy and well-adjusted in the present. Our unique faith-based approach has been proven to be highly successful and will be available to all veterans, their families and active duty personnel desiring a spiritual approach to dealing with these issues.

Re-Entry - CrossFire believes that illegal behavior can be dealt with in much the same way as activity related addictions such as gambling and sexual addictions. CrossFire plans to assist veterans who have become involved in the legal system regardless of their type of discharge.

Re-Employment - Research, preparation, placement, and job retention are essential to individual and community stability. Our facilities will be available all veterans, their spouse and to all active-duty personnel that are within 90 days of separation from active duty.

Relationships - Rebuilding and restoring burned bridges and broken relationships are a priority, with particular focus on preserving marriages and promoting positive fathering. Counseling, training, and seminars are currently available to all veterans and their spouses and to all active-duty personnel. Some seminars and special programs will be open to the general public.
